Aramid Fiber Yarn/Sewing Thread
description

Aramid fiber is firstly developed in 1960s by DuPont company in USA. The trade name of DuPont Para-Aramid is Kevlar, and also DuPont have developed Meta-Aramid named Nomex.in 1965. The full chemical name of Aramid is poly- p- phenylene terephthamide, It is an advanced high strength, high modulus synthetic fiber. Weight is only 1/5 of the steel, he strength is 5 to 6 times the strength of steel. The modulus is 2 to 3 times that of steel. Toughness is twice to steel.  It has soft feel, good spinnability, good insulation performance, long term working life and flame resistance.

High strength and high modulus of mechanical properties: binding force, a strong hydrogen bond strength can reach more than 28 g/D, the strength of the steel wire than 5 ~ 6 times, than the modulus of steel or fiberglass 2 ~ 3 times, toughness is 2 times of wire, and weight is only about 1/5 of the steel wire.

High temperature resistant performance: continuous use very wide temperature range, within the range - 196 ℃ to 204 ℃ can run for a long time. Under 500 ℃ high temperature decomposition, melting, experience under 200 ℃, 100 hours, can still maintain the original strength of 75%.

Good chemical solvent resistance: acid and alkali resistance, aging resistance, good adhesion to rubber.
