Aramid Fiber Mat
Aramid fiber is firstly developed in 1960s by DuPont company in USA. The trade name of DuPont Para-Aramid is Kevlar, and also DuPont have developed Meta-Aramid named Nomex.in 1965. The full chemical name of Aramid is poly- p- phenylene terephthamide, It is an advanced high strength, high modulus synthetic fiber. Weight is only 1/5 of the steel, he strength is 5 to 6 times the strength of steel. The modulus is 2 to 3 times that of steel. Toughness is twice to steel. It has soft feel, good spinnability, good insulation performance, long term working life and flame resistance.
Unitex use the chopped aramid fiber with needling process to produce the aramid fiber mat. The aramid fiber mat is widely used for fireproof, high temperature insulation, high temperature protection, automotive insulation, filter application.
